Description
The Garmin GT56UHD-TH is an all-in-one 12-pin thru-hull transducer offering the ultimate scanning versatility from three frequencies. Its High-Wide traditional CHIRP element (150 to 240 kHz, 350 W) reads to 800 ft, while the 500 W ClearVu and SideVu elements run 455, 800 and Ultra High-Definition 1,000 kHz to balance resolution and range, giving high-resolution images of structure and fish below the boat (ClearVu to 400 ft) and to the sides (SideVu to 500 ft). A fairing block, isolation plate and bushings are included so it can be flush-mounted on hulls of up to 25 degrees deadrise and on metal hulls, with at least one anti-rotation bolt required, plus a built-in fast-response water temperature sensor. It connects via a 12-pin sonar port to compatible Garmin chartplotters and the GCV 20 or GSD 25 sonar black box; the Ultra High-Definition modes require a UHD-capable display path. What sonar does the GT56UHD-TH provide?
It offers three frequencies in one transducer: High-Wide CHIRP traditional sonar (150 to 240 kHz, 350 W, to 800 ft) plus Garmin ClearVu and SideVu scanning sonar at 455, 800 and Ultra High-Definition 1,000 kHz (500 W; ClearVu to 400 ft, SideVu to 500 ft).
How does the GT56UHD differ from the GT51M?
The GT51M uses a mid-band CHIRP traditional element with ClearVu and SideVu at 260 and 455 kHz. The GT56UHD adds a third, Ultra High-Definition 1,000 kHz scanning frequency and uses a High-Wide CHIRP traditional element, giving higher-resolution UHD imaging plus 455 and 800 kHz for range.
Does it come with a fairing block?
Yes. A fairing block, isolation plate and bushings are included, so it can be flush-mounted on hulls of up to 25 degrees deadrise and on metal hulls. The fairing block is shaped to the hull (maximum cut angle 25 degrees).
What do I need to display its sonar?
It uses a 12-pin connector and connects to compatible Garmin chartplotters and the GCV 20 or GSD 25 sonar black box. The Ultra High-Definition modes require a UHD-capable display path; some combinations require an adapter cable.
