Description

HALO20 is a solid-state pulse-compression radar in a compact 20-inch dome, giving smaller boats a powerful blend of short and long-range detection out to 24 nautical miles. Pulse compression delivers precise target definition with minimal clutter, so close-quarters navigation and harbour approaches stay clear and easy to read.

MARPA target tracking follows up to 10 selected targets (20 in Dual Range) to improve situational awareness and collision avoidance, while Guard Zones alert you to anything entering a chosen area. Whether you are threading through crowded water or contending with poor visibility, the radar cuts through clutter to give a clear, current picture of your surroundings.

InstantOn wakes the radar from its low-power standby in seconds, with none of the warm-up a traditional pulse radar needs, and Harbour, Offshore, Weather and custom modes tune the signal processing for the conditions. Radiation-safe and low in power draw, HALO20 connects to compatible Lowrance HDS PRO, HDS LIVE and Elite FS displays and is supplied with a 5 m cable.

What is the maximum range of the HALO20?
The HALO20 has a maximum range of 24 nautical miles, with a minimum range of 6 m (19.7 ft), from a compact 20-inch dome.
Is the HALO20 safe to be near when transmitting?
Yes. The HALO20 is an all solid-state radar with no magnetron and a peak transmit power of 10 W. The manual specifies a 0.0 m safe distance, so it is radiation safe for crew.
What power supply and fuse does the HALO20 need?
It runs from a 10.5-31.2 V DC supply (12 or 24 V systems) with reverse polarity protection, and requires a 5 A fuse on the positive supply.
How does the HALO20 connect to a display?
It uses a 100Base-T Ethernet connection. A supplied RJ45-to-5-pin adapter cable lets it connect to either a 5-pin or RJ45 Ethernet port on the display or network switch.
Does the HALO20 need a warm-up time?
No. With InstantOn the radar wakes from low-power standby in seconds, and there is no zero-range adjustment, warm-up or burn-in required.
