Description

The Simrad RS100 takes marine VHF beyond a single helm. Built around the NRS-1 black-box processor, it is controlled by alphanumeric handsets and speakers placed where you need them, so you can talk and listen from the flybridge, cockpit or below deck. This standard package includes the NRS-1 module, one HS100 wired handset and one SP100 speaker, and grows to support up to four wired handsets, four wireless handsets (eight handsets in total) and four configurable speakers for true vessel-wide communications and intercom.

Full Class D Digital Selective Calling lets you send a one-touch distress alert and make direct digital calls, while an internal GPS processor accepts a GPS antenna for accurate position reporting. Hailer and fog horn functions, a 60-second audio record and replay so you never miss an important call, station naming, favourites and channel scanning all come as standard. Backlight synchronisation across a NMEA 2000 network keeps the system in step with your Simrad displays at night.

What comes in the RS100 system?
The standard RS100 package includes the NRS-1 black-box VHF module, one HS100 wired handset with cradle and cable, and one SP100 wired speaker, along with connectors, mounting kits and a power cable. A VHF antenna is not supplied.
How many handsets and speakers can the RS100 support?
The system supports up to four wired handsets and up to four wireless handsets (eight handsets in total), plus up to four configurable 4 W speaker outputs, making it well suited to vessel-wide communication and intercom.
Does the RS100 have AIS?
The standard RS100 (NRS-1 module) does not include AIS. For a built-in dual-channel AIS receiver and Class B AIS transmitter, choose the RS100-B system, which uses the NRS-2 module.
Does the RS100 need a separate GPS?
The NRS-1 has a built-in GPS processor that requires an external GPS antenna to be connected, or it can take position from a networked NMEA 2000 or NMEA 0183 GPS source. Position is used for DSC distress calls.
Can I add wireless handsets later?
Yes. As well as additional wired HS100 handsets and SP100 speakers, the system works with optional HS40 wireless handsets, so you can expand control points as your needs change.
