Description

The Lowrance NAC-1 Outboard Hydraulic Pilot Pack is a complete, ready-to-install autopilot solution for hydraulic-steered outboard and sterndrive boats up to nine metres (30 feet) in length. At its heart is the NAC-1 autopilot computer, which uses Continuum Steering technology and Virtual Rudder Feedback to deliver reliable steering without the need to fit a separate rudder feedback unit.

What's in the pack
The pack pairs the NAC-1 computer with a high-efficiency, super-quiet 0.8 L/min reversible PUMP-1 hydraulic gear pump, the Point-1AP combined heading sensor and GPS antenna, a dash-mount Auto/Standby button for one-touch engagement, an ORB hydraulic fitting kit and a full NMEA 2000 network kit.

Easy to install and use
NAC-1 plug-and-socket connectors mean no screw terminals or wire stripping, and industry-standard NMEA 2000 networking allows the heading sensor, rudder feedback and multifunction display to be located anywhere on board. Once installed, the system can steer to Heading, Course or Route and run automatic turn patterns, with a compatible Lowrance display acting as the controller.

What is included in the NAC-1 Outboard Hydraulic Pilot Pack?
The pack includes the NAC-1 autopilot computer, a PUMP-1 reversible hydraulic pump (0.8 L/min), the Point-1AP heading and GPS sensor, a dash-mount Auto/Standby button, an ORB hydraulic fitting kit and an NMEA 2000 network kit.
What size boat is this autopilot pack for?
It is recommended for hydraulic-steered outboard and sterndrive boats up to 9 metres (30 feet) in length.
Do I need a separate rudder feedback unit?
No. The NAC-1 uses Virtual Rudder Feedback on outboard and sterndrive boats with planing hulls, removing the need to install a separate rudder feedback unit. It also supports RF25 or 0-5 V feedback units if preferred.
Which steering systems does the fitting kit suit?
The supplied ORB fitting kit suits Teleflex SeaStar (HC5345/47/48/58), Teleflex BayStar (HC4600/45/47/48/58), Hynautic K6 and steering rams from Vetus, Uflex and Lecomble & Schmitt. Never use NPT fittings or Teflon tape on ORB fittings.
What does the NAC-1 computer need to run?
The NAC-1 runs from a 9-16 V DC supply with a 20 A fuse, drives the pump at 8 A continuous (16 A peak for 1 second) and connects to the system over NMEA 2000.
